Who is Paloma Kop?

Hello! Paloma Kop is me, a multimedia artist specializing in electronic media, realtime signal processing, and audio-visual performance. You can find out more about me on my artist website.

What is AV Club?

Paloma Kop's AV Club is a paid subscription, where members can support my work and receive digital and/or physical artifacts at regular intervals. To read more about this project and my intentions for it, check out the intro post.

How does shipping work for Physical Objects?

Physical objects are shipped via USPS every 3 months. Everyone subscribed to a tier that includes Physical Objects will have their objects sent out at the same time, usually in March, June, September, and December. I'll send you an email to let you know it's on the way. Depending on the size and shape of the Object, it might be shipped with or without tracking.

If you're in the U.S., your Object will likely arrive within about a week of the notification email. If you're elsewhere, please allow an extra week or so.

Members can edit their mailing address by signing in and going to "settings."

I'm always happy to help, and I especially appreciate feedback on the website or if you experience any technical glitches. This is a new platform for me, with some custom code, and I want to make sure it's working as smoothly as possible.

Please get in touch via the email above. I've done my best to balance between accessible pricing and the sustainability of the time and energy I put in. But everyone's budget is different, and I'm glad you want to be a part of this project, so sliding scale and discounted options are available.

How did you make this site?

This is a self-hosted instance of Ghost, an open-source newsletter and publishing platform. Since Ghost doesn't natively support collecting mailing addresses for Physical Objects, I also created a tiny custom JS app for that purpose.

I am a nerd and I hate email. How else can I follow new posts?

First off, you can manage your subscription to email updates by signing in and going to the settings page (click "manage your account" and then "email").

There are two main alternatives to receiving updates via email:

Since some of the content here requires a membership, these feeds may not include the full posts, but hopefully they will at least let you know when something new is added. Also, if you receive a Physical Object shipment, notifications for those are always sent only via email.
